Sampath's Father Empty Sampath's Father

Why would Sampath's father go through so much effort to take care of Sampath if he was such a disgrace? Wouldn't it be easier for his father to simply disown Sampath and leave him to his guava tree?

His father wanted to make money off Sampath's popularity. This shows when he began attempting to charge for photographs with Sampath and the monkeys.

Yes, but that was later on. Before Sampath became famous, he was simply a crazy boy in a guava tree. His father was surprised by the sudden popularity and then began to look for the business opportunity in it all.

I remember Sampath's father being all about perfection, like bordering OCD perhaps, and I believe he was committed to having a perfect family. Not for his son's sake but for his own sanity. So he didn't go for Sampath's being in the tree, but as soon as he found out he could make a profit out of it, he changed his mind.
