Other than the hungry hop boy's family pressuring him to marry and the girl's beauty, why do you think that he had such a hard time deciding between Pinky and "Miss Pudding and Cake"?

I think that it symbolises the decisions that everyone makes in their lives. Everything has a pro and a con, and people will always struggle to decide between the two. Decisions are never easy. Also, marrying Pinky would have been far more complicated for him, and he was very tempted to take the easy way out and marry Miss Pudding and Cake
